Robert Rust is an artist and musician born in Hartford, Connecticut, 1962.

Mentored  by artist Alfred Blanchard, who taught at Wesleyan University.

Received the E. Adolph Anderson Scholarship For The Arts from East Hampton High School 

Attended Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, majored in graphic design and illustration.

Drummer for Connecticut-based alternative rock band "The Take" throughout the 1980s.

Joined Rhode Island-based alternative rock band "Throwing Muses" in 1995 as a keyboardist. Went on world tour for the album "University", and remained with the band touring and recording on the album "Limbo", as well as touring for lead singer Kristin Hersh's solo album "Sky Motel".

Lived in Brooklyn, New York, 2004 - 2020. Worked as a scenic painter and freelance artist, occasionally

exhibiting paintings and sculptures, as well as playing, writing, and recording music under his own moniker.

​Currently lives in Newport, RI.
